Shri Damodar temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is positioned on the banks of the River Kaushavati in Zambaulim-Sanguem, which is 22 km from Margao. Locally cited as Panti, this holy waterway is said to have medicinal properties, which is believed to cure all skin diseases. It is revered by both Hindus and Christians alike.The gorgeous idol of the lord was fetched to its present placement in the year 1567AD when the Portuguese demolished the primary temple and assembled the Church of the Holy Spirit in its place.
