Temples of Goa

The temples of Goa are much sought after and are thronged by scores of devotees. The land of Goa reflects a distinctive amalgamation of the Hindu and Christian culture and traditions. The Devaki Krishna temple reflects the love and affection between Lord Krishna and Devaki, who was his mother. The Sri Mahalaxmi temple, devoted towards Goddess Mahalaxmi, is also a preference among the tourists. This temple also boasts of a 'shubhamandap' and the jatra held here also draws a lot of tourists towards it. The Sri Chandreshwar temple is a magnificent temple, which houses a pretty Shiva linga. This linga attains an altogether different beauty at the moment of the full moon. The Mangueshi temple, devoted towards Lord Shiva, boasts of a swim stambha, noubatkhana and agrashalas.Each of the temples within Goa applaud various festivals related towards the deities that the temples house. These festivals are applauded with great enthusiasm and everybody the adherents arrive together and soak within the festive spirit.
