Inaugurated onto October 12, 1998, the Naval Aviation Museum is divided into two departments, an out-door exhibit and a number of indoor galleries. Starting off with a modest bundle of six vintage naval aircrafts, the museum has metamorphosed into India's second biggest aviation museum with twelve aircrafts onto display. Among the aircraft bundle, the centrepiece of attraction is the giant Lockheed L-1049G Super Constellation borrowed via the Navy from the Indian Air Force. Other aircrafts on display include the Sea Harrier, Sea Hawk, Sealand, Alize, Dove, Vampire and Hughes. If the outdoor exhibits swell your heart with pride, the indoor galleries are none less impressive. The weapons and guns on display in galleries include bombs, torpedoes, sensors and cannon used by the naval aircrafts throughout the ages. The former naval museum within Asia was inaugurated at Diabolism, Vasco in 1998 and was thrown open to the public from the 19th Oct 1998. The museum showcases the history of Indian Naval Aviation, various aircrafts, weapons, sensors, safety machinery, and rare photographs depicting the complete story of Goat's liberation.
