Goa Weather

Lying some 1200km (745 miles), south of the Tropic of Cancer, Goa has a tropical weather distinguished by balmy climate for much of the year. Goa is lashed with hefty rainfall and powerful winds between June and September. Summers, from March to May, are warm and very humid. Winters from November to March are gentle and pleasant. The best time to visit Goa is during winters from November to March. This is decidedly the best tourist time of the year of the state. The climate, at this time is best and most conducive for full day tours of the state. If you happen to land up in Goa during summers, then it is the best time for a budget holiday as the rates are down.

The heat will keep you off from sandy beachfronts; you can enjoy blissful afternoon siestas instead. Anticipate hefty off-season discounts as far as places to stay and sightseeing, evening serving of food and beverages are concerned. Besides sandy coastlines, options like a visit to wildlife sanctuaries and spice plantations could offer minor respite from the heat. Evenings are pleasant during summers and the monotony of hot and humid throughout the year is broken by the onset of monsoons in June. Travelling inside India usually becomes more tough during the rainy season of the year and Goa is no exception. Road, rail and air journey agenda are prone to disruption. Strong winds and high oceans furthermore put most sandy coastlines off bounds at this time of year.
