Carnival in Goa is a non-stop 3-day festival of colour, song and music, delivering a favourable entertainment for all, young and old. In Goan townships, however, the festivities have a more indigenous flavour. Though celebrated by the Christian population of Goa, the carnival's relevance to Christianity is that it is celebrated in the past Lent. The festival today has no pastoral undertones and has emerged as the cultural focal point of the state.Religion has simply no meaning in today's globalized times and it finds little or no mention in festivities.
