Fort Cabo da RamaTour Booking
Ownership of the fort changed many times during the past few centuries when Goa was ruled by foreign rulers. In 1763, the Raja of Soonda was defeated by the Portuguese and they took control of the fort, renovating it completely. Apart from scattered ruins, that can be found here and there, the Cabo da Rama fort does not retain any attractions. Within the precincts of the fort, one can find the church of Santo Antonio which is in excellent condition and is still used by devotees. The western side of the fortress, where the cliffs drop precipitously to the sea provide a panoramic outlook of the surrounding areas. Cabo De Rama fort can be reached by hiring a taxi or a mini cab from any nearby location in south Goa. There is regular bus service from Margao to Cabo De Rama fort daily. The Cabo De Rama fort positioned in the Canacona locality of Goa is yet another renowned fort in India. The Fort was first occupied by Hindu sovereigns any person who spread their empire all through India. The fort has switched hands between Hindu, Muslim and Portugal sovereigns and has been witness to some of the most gruesome battles in history.
